My last post was about a year ago. I went to the doctor and found out I had strained a muscle in my MCL. It sucked it took about 8 weeks before I didn't have anymore pain. At that point I decided to take about another month off just to make sure I was good. I started. Back to running about the beginning of April mainly a bunch of light easy short runs on the grass. On July 4th I did a 2 mile race and that was the first time I touched a hard surface. I have been basically since then been building up my base miles and getting to were I can run on a regular basis with no pain. I ran a 5k in September and a turkey trot both not good results but I felt good and no pain.

Now as for today was the first day I did a workout with a specific race in mind. I'm going to run the tinker half marathon in February and would like to possible PR. I attempted a 3 mile tempo and the goal was 5:40 pace. I took off with the wind to my back and hit mile 1 at 5:33 and mile 2 at 5:36. Mile 3 was pretty hilly and needless to say I was dying. So it turned into a 2.5 mile tempo. I feel good and I'll try again next week.
